I made my very own customized stocking using a recycled sweater and some yarn. This is a great project for anyone to do, including the kids!

You’ll Need:
An old sweater without buttons or pockets– wash and tumble dry first
Yarn – a colour that contrasts with your sweater will look best
Needle with large loop
Scissors
Chalk

Directions:
1. Use the chalk to draw out a stocking shape on the sweater. You can use an existing stocking
you may have as a template. Cut out the shape.
2. Flip the stocking shape over so that the wrong side is up and trace the shape onto the back of the sweater. Cut out the second shape.
3. Place the two shape pieces together with the wrong sides facing inwards.
4. Thread the yarn in to the large needle and make a blanket stitch all the way around the
stocking attaching the two pieces together. Leave the top of the stocking open. Finish off with a knot.

*Blanket stitch: When the yarn passes under itself on each stitch.
